We are experts at assisting families with loved ones who are “functional” - those who have not yet lost everything from alcohol, drug use or other addictions. 

• Our approach to recovery is modeled after the highly successful programs run by airlines for addicted pilots and medical boards for addicted physicians. 

We help families and their advisors perform a similar role to medical boards and airlines in overseeing recovery of their addicted loved ones, including encouraging them to enter treatment and follow post-treatment recommendations - key elements in the success of the pilot/physician programs.

The family is a powerful, positive influence in sustaining sobriety and improving recovery rates.

• Our counselors are licensed professionals specializing in chemical dependency and often cross- trained with advanced degrees in other disciplines (law, business & nursing). 

We partner with families to help them support their loved ones’ recovery. 

We are not a treatment center, but we do help families find quality treatment resources.

Formerly Addiction Recovery Professionals, we changed our name to Aureus in 2008.

Aureus is derived from the mythological Goddess of Dawn - Eos (Greek) and Aurora (Roman).
According to myth, each morning Aurora awakens, renewed and vibrant, spreading a blanket of reds, oranges and pinks across a glowing sky.  She opens the gates of heaven so her brother, Helios, the sun, can ride in his golden chariot across the sky.
So too, do we at Aureus help families and their loved ones awaken to a new life and begin a vibrant journey in recovery.
